On-campus resources to explore at your leisure:

Academic Resource Center

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) supports the Viterbo learning community with centralized services for student success, personal growth, and retention through graduation. The ARC offers a variety of services such as free tutoring, writing assistance, test proctoring, and so much more. Visit the ARC website to learn more about how the ARC can help with your specific needs.

Academic Advising

Viterbo is proud of its strong, student-first academic advising culture. Students work with both a professional academic advisor and a faculty advisor in their major to help learn about academic requirements and make a graduation plan, explore major and minor options, set and achieve goals, get connected to campus and community resources, and explore interests. Advisors work closely with faculty using an early alert system, which allows instructors to continue to motivate students who are doing well in a course as well as to identify provide support services for students who are having academic difficulty.

Career Services/Internships

Career Services provides career counseling and advising, job search assistance, and help with finding internships.  We also offer a class for first-year students who are deciding on a major (UNST 110:  Major Exploration).

Student Engagement

Student Engagement provides programming and events for all Viterbo students, by way of Weekends @ VU programming every Friday and Saturday, Student Activities Board events including Courtyard Carni and Halloween Week, and through our Clubs and Organizations. Click to learn more about student activities and programming.

Service and Community Engagement

Service SaturdaysUGetConnected, and other built-in campus resources allow Viterbo students to integrate our value of service in their classroom experience and beyond.   Our largest Service Saturday of the year is part of Orientation where we create community connections on the very first Saturday after move-in with 300+ Viterbo students, faculty, and staff! (I’d love to be part of a Zoom session, pending on timing/details!) Visit the Center for Community Engagement page to learn more!

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry at Viterbo University serves as a vehicle for implementing the mission of Viterbo University; namely, in its mission as a Catholic, Franciscan University embracing persons of all faiths in an ecumenical Christian community, and in its preparation of students for ethical leadership and service rooted in the values of human dignity and respect for the world. Please head to their website for more information on the goals of Campus Ministry and to discover how they create community through Agape Latte and the Magnify Retreat.

Honors

A community of over 80 undergraduate scholars, the Honors Program provides an enriched learning environment that deepens students’ academic experiences, develops their leadership potential, and expands their engagement with local and national communities through program-funded service and academic opportunities.

Residence Life

Viterbo University provides traditional residence hall style housing for all new freshmen students in Bonaventure and Marian halls. Both buildings have been remodeled within the last ten years, and house about 30 people per floor. Each floor boasts an upper-class resident assistant devoted to programming and support of r, an air-conditioned lounge with an oven, microwave, full-sized refrigerator, and TV, and a large community style bathroom. Sophomores through seniors live in apartment style facilities, which provide a sense of independence while providing the support of living on campus.  Housing options and more can be found at www.viterbo.edu/residence-life.

ROTC

Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is a leadership curriculum, similar to a minor, that aims to create agile, adaptive, creative and critical-thinking leaders. Students can "test drive" ROTC with our local Army ROTC battalion by enrolling in Military Science 101 (MSCI 101) to fully experience the program with NO obligation to serve in the military. Scholarships are available for students who are interested in serving as an officer in the Army after college. Internship opportunities are even available for Nursing students between their Junior and Senior year. More information is available via our Military Aligned Student support page highlighting La Crosse Area Services.
