We also collaborate with other campus and community organizations to market all of the amazing events Viterbo University and La Crosse have to offer!

WAVU Programming Assistants

Do you want to help plan and attend fun weekend events?
Do you want to gain skills in organization, event-planning, and budgeting?

Weekends at VU hires four (4) Programming Assistants and one (1) communications specialist. Position reports to the Student Engagement Coordinator. The Weekends at VU Programming Assistants plans and facilitates social, recreational, and community-focused programs that take place on Fridays and Saturdays when classes are in session.  

Qualifications: Applicants must be a full-time Viterbo University student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 throughout time of employment. Applicant must be willing to meet and work throughout weekdays and facilitate late-night events on scheduled weekends. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of weekend programs as a team.  

  • Create promotional materials for various campus advertising options.   

  • Provide on-site supervision and facilitation of events to oversee facilities use, arrangements, admission receipts, compliance with policies, and to assist in problem resolution.  

  • Role model engagement for participants. 

  • Contact and follow up with outside vendors and performers when needed.  

  • Assist in the coordination of setup, tear-down, and cleanup of events.  

  • Communicate with Weekends at VU team and other campus/community partners before, during, and after the event.  

  • Complete all necessary pre-event and post-event steps including budgeting, advertising, implementing, and program evaluation. 

  • Meet regularly with supervisor and team.  

  • Additional duties as assigned.
