As an Arts Administration major at Viterbo University I was given hands-on opportunities that formed the skill set I needed for professional internships. This program offered me the knowledge and experience that allowed me to secure a career in a field that I had always been passionate to work in. The education gained at Viterbo goes far beyond textbook learning and gives you the applicable experience the profession is looking for.

My experience at Viterbo gave me the tools and opportunities to go on to graduate school to pursue my passion. It was through the close mentoring of Viterbo's faculty that I grew as an artist and individual, expanding my understanding of what it means to be an artist and member of the community. As a professional in my field, I look back at my time at Viterbo with great pride in the connections and skills I learned on the third floor of the Viterbo Fine Arts Center.

I owe my success as an art teacher to the experiences I had while I was a student at Viterbo University. The courses I took challenged me to grow and develop both the skills and dispositions that have made me successful as a public school art educator. The instructors at Viterbo helped me build the skills and have the experiences that today allow me to share my passion for art with my students.

I realized right away that my education was going to be very extensive and thorough. Viterbo offered music classes that many other universities didn’t and my piano instructor was impressive as both a performer and a teacher. He was a great fit for one-on-one instruction with me.”

I feel that my education at Viterbo has prepared me quite well for real-world experiences. When I attended my classes I always felt like I left with something valuable to put toward learning the next day or teaching in my clinical experiences. There are many schools out there who are willing to offer you a wonderful education, but Viterbo offers something more. Visit Viterbo, set up a tour and see for yourself—you will not be disappointed.”

Viterbo offered me a diverse variety of musical experiences that fostered the talent needed for my work with Chanticleer where I had to be proficient in all musical styles and genres. Some of these experiences at Viterbo included Concert Choir, opera productions, solo competitions such as NATS, and also through a cappella group and barbershop styles. I have always been very driven in my own career, and Viterbo's smaller campus, classroom sizes, and close, personal relationships I formed with professors fostered my work with my company Choral Tracks.”

Viterbo prepared me not only for my professional career as a theatre teacher, but it also opened up my eyes to other cultures and countries—whether it be from analyzing a character in a play, or from the variety of experiences the professors have to share. Viterbo helped foster my confidence, passion for teaching, and also the desire to challenge and improve myself.

Being able to work with professional faculty molded me and truly prepared me as a professional actor. I was also encouraged to be the actor/singer/dancer I am, not the mold I should fit in. Numerous producers and directors have asked where I went for my acting training. I'm proud to say I went to Viterbo University.

My experience at Viterbo was very special. My training was not only thorough, but wide in scope. Today, a career in opera requires not only excellent singing, but serious acting skills as well. I chose Viterbo based upon the strength of the theatre program as well as the small class sizes. Viterbo provided not only a great training program for actors and singers, but opened me to many learning experiences that have enriched me as an artist.
