Spend a day with the people who teach your major

Exploration Days are subject-specific visit events for prospective students and their families. Instead of a general campus overview, you'll spend a few hours inside one academic area — meeting the faculty who teach it, the students already in it, and the local professionals who hire its graduates.

Each Exploration Day is free, runs about two to three hours, and includes a complimentary lunch. Most check in at the Skogen Family Welcome Center inside the Reinhart Center.

What to expect

Every Exploration Day is built around its program, but most include:

  • A complimentary lunch with faculty and current students
  • A panel of current students, faculty, or area professionals talking honestly about coursework, careers, and what comes after graduation
  • Hands-on time in the spaces you'd actually use — labs, simulation centers, studios, and classrooms
  • A look at student work, from design showcases to research projects
  • Time to ask about scholarships, admission requirements, and program-specific opportunities

Upcoming Exploration Days

Engineering, Math, and Computer Science Exploration Day
Meet current engineering, applied mathematics, and computer science students at a design showcase of their own projects, then hear two panels of local engineers and professionals on what these degrees open up. Includes a complimentary lunch.

NURSES Program Exploration Day
For students interested in rural healthcare. Join the School of Nursing for a luncheon, a presentation on the NURSES program and its scholarships, and a simulation experience in Viterbo's nursing simulation center.

Pre-Health Exploration Day
Explore Viterbo's pre-health programs and early acceptance agreements in pharmacy, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, and chiropractic. Includes a student and faculty panel and a tour of the Reinhart Center's classrooms and labs.

Make it a full day

Several Exploration Days are scheduled alongside a VU Preview Day morning, so you can do both in one trip. Preview Day mornings include an admission presentation, financial aid presentation, a campus tour with residence halls, time with current students and faculty, and free Viterbo swag.

Registration for Preview Day is separate from the Exploration Day — sign up for both if you'd like the full experience.
