Viterbo provided an intimate undergraduate experience between students and faculty, an indispensable asset for learning rigorous math and science. My experiences tutoring students in statistics and general physics as well as conducting research with faculty members significantly improved my ability to convey complex concepts. Having transitioned into medical physics, where you can find yourself speaking with anyone from a patient to a physician, I would assert that my education at Viterbo was priceless.

The Viterbo clinical laboratory science program prepared me for the clinical aspect of patient care. I think it’s a privilege to have gone to a great educational facility.

My Viterbo education was very broad in the sense that I was taking classes in management, biology, as well as core classes in sport science. The spectrum showed me different levels of thinking and challenged me to broaden my way of thinking. Now that I have transitioned to graduate school, I have found that my degree courses prepared me for the critical analysis needed in graduate level classes. In my sport science and biology coursework, I was always challenged to take processes and apply them to situations in which everything might not be particularly right within the body or environment. This critical thinking has made the transition easier for myself and I’m grateful that I was challenged so much at Viterbo.

I have always had a passion for learning about the brain and neurodevelopment. The biopsychology major provided a balance between the neurochemistry of the brain and learning about human behavior. This knowledge has proven especially helpful as I pursue a career as a licensed professional counselor. The biopsychology major helped prepare me for my master’s program by expanding my understanding of the neurobiology behind human behavior, which has ultimately helped me better understand the people I serve.

The benefits of obtaining my Viterbo undergraduate degree in natural science (now environmental science) continues to enrich and guide my activities as an educator, consultant, property owner and agro-ecologist. The world class biology faculty and curriculum at Viterbo exceeded even my graduate science studies. Every Viterbo student engaged in coursework receives guidance, support and direction enabling them to develop a career path that encourages their strongest attributes.

The Viterbo business administration major offers its students amazing real world experience. As a student in the program, I have so many amazing faculty members who are helping me make connections with people in the community. As a sophomore, I have already been given the opportunity to have a paid internship in my field. That doesn't happen at other universities.

Viterbo gave me the exact tools I needed in order to be the most efficient teacher. I learned how to be a reflective practitioner and learned how to make teaching my craft and not just my profession. I would recommend Viterbo because of its amazing community, great class sizes, and helpful professors.”
