Accreditations
Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics

Graduates of the Viterbo University Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics who successfully complete all program requirements are eligible to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)credentialing examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The CDR is the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

In addition to earning the RDN credential, many states require dietitians to obtain state licensure or certification before practicing. State licensure requirements vary by state and are subject to change. Prospective students and graduates are encouraged to review the licensure requirements for the state(s) in which they intend to practice to determine the specific requirements.

The community-medical dietetic program at Viterbo University is currently granted continuing accreditation by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2190, Chicago, IL 60606, 800-877-1600.

The Coordinated Program at Viterbo University includes 1,152 ACEND-accredited supervised practice hours, also called a dietetic coordinated internship, which is required to be eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians.
