Viterbo students connect with businesses, organizations, and government agencies for real-world experiences that are usually, but not always, in their fields. For many, internships and clinicals are required, but for others it’s a way to get a jump on post-college life.
Service is a core value at Viterbo, and service is a key part of a Viterbo education. The monthly Service Saturday events are a well-known
example of the community connection that students make through helping others, but many also find ways to serve as part of their classwork.

Starting in 2024, anybody who wants to become a registered dietitian nutritionist will have to earn a master’s degree. In a way, it’s like they are moving the goal posts, but Viterbo University has come up with a way to keep students in the game without having to go into overtime.

Spurred by the killing of George Floyd, David Saunders-Scott and Michelle Pinzl spent the summer leading a Viterbo working group whose mission was to review racism and justice issues at Viterbo and produce proposals to create a more
equitable and justice-centered campus.
