VITERBO UNIVERSITY SPRING COMMENCEMENT AT THE LA CROSSE CENTER MAY 9
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Three hundred ninety-eight students, 243 undergraduate, 119 master’s degree, and 36 doctoral degree students, will be candidates for graduation at Viterbo University’s Spring Commencement Ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at the La Crosse Center.
Wisconsin State Senator Brad Pfaff will give the commencement address. Emma Schoen, a biochemistry major from Bear Valley, will give the undergraduate student address and Master of Science in Nursing student Priya Anup Menon will deliver the graduate student address.
Dr. Tonya Wagner, vice president for academic affairs and institutional effectiveness, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Viterbo President Dr. Rick Trietley will confer the degrees. The candidates will be presented by Dr. Daisy Figueroa, associate dean of the School of Education, Dr. Megan Smith, dean of the College of Nursing and Health, and Dr. Janet Holter, social work program director. The diplomas will be awarded by President Trietley and Board of Trustees Chair John McHugh.
Assistant Chaplain Fr. Michael Weldon, OFM, will provide the invocation, Wagner will lead the Prayer of St. Francis, and Chaplain Fr. Conrad Targonski, OFM, will give the benediction. Board of Trustees member Brad Sturm will provide congratulatory remarks.
Receiving the title of faculty emeritus will be Dr. Rochelle Brooks, business.
A Baccalaureate Mass will be held that morning at 10 a.m. in San Damiano Chapel on the Viterbo campus. Fr. Targonski will preside at the liturgy. The Nursing Pinning Ceremony will be at 4 p.m. Friday, May 8 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. The commencement will be livestreamed.
