VITERBO UNIVERSITY D.B. REINHART INSTITUTE FOR ETHICS IN LEADERSHIP SPRING LECTURE SERIES TO FEATURE MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMANCE OF UNBOUGHT MARCH 26

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Core Ensemble will perform the musical theatre piece Unbought at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre as part of the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership’s spring lecture series.

Unbought shares the dramatic stories of journalist and women’s suffrage activist Ida B. Wells, Thomas Jefferson's slave and concubine Sally Hemings, and Shirley Chisholm, the first African American woman elected to the U.S. Congress and the first African American woman to run for President of the United States. The music is drawn from classical, jazz, and popular works by African American composers.

The event is free and open to the public and tickets are not required. Unbought is presented by Core Ensemble in partnership with the Viterbo D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership and the university’s department of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
