LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University has been awarded a $65,315 grant to support vocational exploration for students from the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE), a program of the Council of Independent Colleges.

The grant will be used to revise the Viterbo core curriculum and revamp the university’s dual advising program.

“Viterbo has a rich history as a student-centered, comprehensive liberal arts institution,” said Tonya Wagner, vice president for academic affairs and institutional effectiveness at Viterbo University. “Building on that legacy, we look forward to fostering deeper exploration of the big questions that shape our world while developing innovative approaches that empower students to thrive academically, professionally, and personally throughout their educational journey.”

Viterbo is one of 30 colleges and universities nationwide to receive a NetVUE Program Development Grant this year, which totaled over $2,750,000. The grants support institutions in deepening, expanding, or otherwise strengthening programs that support students as they explore and discern their many callings in life. The grants were made possible through the support of Lilly Endowment, Inc.

The wide variety of programming supported by these grants reflects the diverse and creative ways institutions are engaging with vocation. For more information about each project, visit the NetVUE website.
