Major: Nursing

Year: Junior

Hometown: Cashton, Wisconsin

“I’ve always believed in healing through care and connection. Nursing lets me be there for people when they need it most. My aunt and dad both work in healthcare, and their compassion showed me how one person’s kindness can change someone’s hardest day.

Viterbo felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus. Everyone was so welcoming, and small class sizes make it easy to connect. Professors know your name, care about your success, and help you grow as a student and person.

Outside of class, I stay active and try to live out Viterbo’s values every day. My roommate and I are launching Miles and Smiles: Viterbo Run Club to promote wellness, friendship, and joy through movement. I also play intramurals and love showing up for campus events. Staying fit keeps me grounded and helps me care better for others.

Faith is a big part of who I am. It reminds me that service and hospitality start with small actions like lending a hand, listening, or making someone feel welcome.

Through clinicals, I’ve seen how well Viterbo prepares nursing students for real-world care. Hands-on learning has built my confidence to serve patients with both skill and heart.

Looking ahead, my dream is to become a flight nurse, move to Colorado, and build a life filled with purpose and joy.

When I’m not studying, you’ll find me at Grounded Coffee, walking by Riverside Park, or grabbing ice cream at The Pearl. My favorite Viterbo tradition is the President’s Dinner. It’s such a special moment to share a meal with classmates, professors, and President Rick.

My advice to future V-Hawks? Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. I was shy my first year and wish I’d gotten involved sooner. College goes fast — try new things, meet new people, and make the most of every moment.”
