“I chose to major in business marketing because I love being creative and wanted to strengthen my skills in Adobe applications like Photoshop. I used to play baseball at Viterbo, but I had to step away due to scheduling conflicts. Now, I’m an intern with the university’s Marketing and Communications team, gaining hands-on experience in the field I hope to build a career in.

I chose Viterbo because of the small class sizes, approachable professors, and, honestly, because I wanted to experience ‘Midwest nice.’ It didn’t disappoint. The people here have made Viterbo feel like home. Even during Thanksgiving break, coaches make sure student-athletes have somewhere to go, sometimes even inviting them into their own homes.

The atmosphere at Viterbo is warm and welcoming. Everyone is willing to help or even just offer a smile. A former professor once told me that marketing isn’t selling — it’s an art form shaped by practice. That perspective, along with lessons from Professor Jeff Nyseth, has completely changed how I see my work and my potential.

I’m motivated every day by my family and friends who push me to do my best. ‘Education with purpose’ means pursuing learning that actively improves your life and your future.

Looking ahead, my goal is to join a marketing agency or company where I can continue building my portfolio and growing as a professional. Viterbo has prepared me for that through real-world experience and the support of incredible mentors.

My advice to future V-Hawks is to see Viterbo as a place full of opportunity. Try new things. You’ll have so much support here that it’s hard not to succeed.”
