Subject: COVID-19 Update

 Students:

I hope you’re doing well. A short email today with updates and reminders:

  • A fourth case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in La Crosse County. Check local media outlets for the latest news.
  • Reminder that spring semester classes continue online beginning Monday, March 23. Remember to check your Viterbo email regularly for the important news and updates. Contact your instructor with course specific questions.
  • Viterbo has set up a student and family response phone line and email address for questions or concerns that will be open from 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Friday. Call 608-796-3211 or email viterbocares@viterbo.edu for your support needs. Viterbo is committed to supporting students and your families, so let us know how we can help.
  • The library staff is available to meet your resource needs. You may request physical items at any time by using the library’s catalogue or place a hold by emailing library2@viterbo.edu. Those at a distance the staff will work on getting you the resources you need through mail or electronic resources.  For local students or students still in the residence halls, the staff will check them out to you and place them on a cart outside the library’s front door on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2–4 p.m. Materials will be brought back into the library after 4 p.m. Use your Viterbo ID to enter the south side of Murphy Center. Your name will be on your items. All due dates are extended until the end of the semester, so don’t worry about returning items until then. Many other library services are available, too: Interlibrary loan (articles, book chapters), research help via chat from the library’s homepage, and information literacy instruction sessions. For information how to use the library remotely, as well as plenty of contact information, visit the library guide at https://libguides.viterbo.edu/remoteaccess or visit the library homepage at www.viterbo.edu/library.
  • From the bookstore: upcoming reminder emails on textbooks will include a link for a prepaid label to send books back by Fed Ex to the bookstore. These labels should be printed by the May 11 due date, however, the grace period is being extended to 15 days in order to allow time for transit. In-store operations at that time have not been determined but plans are being made for buyback and book drop-off. Visit www.viterbostore.com for updates on free shipping as well free eTextbooks for the remainder of the semester.
  • For important information regarding residence life and moving out of the residence halls, please refer to the emails sent to Viterbo residents yesterday from Margy Frazier or visit the Residence Life website athttps://www.viterbo.edu/residence-life.

Thank you and hang in there,
Glena
