DESK AND TABLE ART EXHIBIT BY FRANK AND DENISE GOSAR TO OPEN IN THE VITERBO UNIVERSITY GALLERY JAN. 31; RECEPTION FEB. 2; ARTIST WORKSHOPS FEB. 6

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Desk and Table, an exhibit of pottery, handmade paper, and bookbinding by husband-and-wife artists Frank and Denise Gosar, will be on display in the Viterbo University Gallery Wednesday, Jan. 31–Wednesday, March 27.

A reception with the artists will be held from 4–6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2 in the gallery. On Tuesday, Feb. 6, a sketchbook workshop will be held from 1:30–3:30 p.m. and a clay workshop will follow from 4:30–6:30 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public, but space is limited in the workshops and registration is required. Email klpeters@viterbo.edu to reserve a spot in one or both workshops.

Frank Gosar earned bachelor’s degrees in art and mathematics from Viterbo University and a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from the University of Oregon, where he would teach for 10 years. Denise Gosar graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with bachelor's degrees in microbiology and public health. She worked as a microbiology lab technician with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in La Crosse for almost 12 years. The couple opened their own studio, Off-Center Ceramics, in 1993, and today their work is available online and at art fairs and shops throughout Oregon and Washington.

There is no admission fee to the gallery, which is located on the third floor of the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. The gallery is open from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. when school is in session. For the full schedule of Viterbo University gallery exhibits, visit www.viterbo.edu/gallery.
