Summer Services

Access Cards/Keys

Each summer guest is issued an access card and room key upon check-in to the residence hall or apartment building. This card and key must be carried at all times. The card provides access to the front entrance and stairwells of the hall where the guest is staying. The key provides access to the room or apartment where the guest is staying. Doors may not be propped or held open to allow access for conference attendees.

Laundry Facilities

Each building has washers and dryers in the basement/lower level area, available at no charge. You must provide your own laundry detergent for our machines (pods are discouraged, as our machines are high-efficiency and may not fully dissolve the pod).

Linen Service (Optional)

A complete set of linens, including a pillow, blanket, sheets, towel, and washcloth, is available for $15. For conference groups staying more than one week, linens must be changed each week. Guests are expected to leave the linens in their rooms. The group will be billed for the cost of linen service and any missing linens upon departure.

Safety and Security

Uniformed security officers are on duty on campus 24 hours each day. During evening hours, uniformed security guards patrol outside the residence halls and apartments. Residence halls and apartments feature swipe-card entry for added security and convenience. In addition, summer staff provide evening walk-through rounds to enhance the safety of all of our guests.

While taking reasonable precautions, the university cannot assume responsibility for your personal security or the security of your possessions. La Crosse is a great city to visit. However, certain precautions should be taken concerning security for you and your property. General safety tips include: Close your room door when you are not present, lock your car, do not walk alone at night, and inform the summer residence life staff if you ever feel uncomfortable or see any suspicious persons or activities.

Medical Services

While there is no on-campus health center open for summer guests, there is a local hospital located one block east of the Viterbo campus.
