UW-La Crosse Co-Op Program

Through an inter-institutional cooperative agreement, students at Viterbo and UW-L have access to broader educational opportunities. A student may take selected fall or spring semester coursework at either institution on a space-available basis. (Summer and winter coursework is not available via the cooperative program.) Selected courses must be courses that are never available at their home institution, and the student must be a full-time student (not including credits taken through the cooperative program) at their home institution during the cooperative program semester and enrolled in a traditional undergraduate bachelor’s degree program. A maximum of six credits can be taken via the cooperative program in a given semester. Tuition is paid as normal at the home institution, but any special course fees (i.e., labs, etc.) will be paid at the institution at which the course is taken.

Viterbo students must be in the 12-18 credit banded undergraduate tuition category, and not in a program offered through the Center for Adult Learning or a graduate program. A student’s academic advisor approval is required. Credits earned through this cooperative program are considered transfer hours and are not calculated into the student’s grade point average at Viterbo. Viterbo students must complete and return the appropriate form available via the Viterbo Registrar. The deadline to submit the form is May 1 for fall semester and Dec. 1 for spring semester.

UW-L students interested in taking coursework at Viterbo University via the UW-L/Viterbo cooperative agreement should complete the traditional undergraduate admission application online. While completing the application, as their Academic Program under the Enrollment Information section, they should select “Undergraduate Non-Degree – UW-L Co-Op Program.” Additional documentation may be needed.
