Students enrolled in the Viterbo University Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics must successfully complete both university graduation requirements and all program-specific requirements to earn their degree(s) and successfully complete the program.
Students in the First-Year Coordinated Program must fulfill all requirements for both the Bachelor of Scienceand Master of Science degrees, while students in the Direct-Entry Coordinated Master's Program must complete all requirements for the Master of Sciencedegree. University graduation requirements include successful completion of all required coursework, the minimum required credits, applicable grade point average requirements, residency requirements, and all degree-specific graduation requirements as outlined in the Viterbo University Catalog.
In addition to meeting university graduation requirements, students in the Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics must:
- Successfully complete all required didactic coursework in the prescribed curriculum.
- Maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
- Earn the minimum required grade of a “B” in all nutrition and minimum grade of “C” in supporting science courses, as outlined in the program handbook.
- Demonstrate achievement of all required Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®) competencies by earning a minimum of a “4” on all evaluation forms.
- Successfully complete all required 1,152 supervised experiential learning hours and associated assignments.
- Meet all program professionalism and performance expectations throughout supervised practice.
- Complete all required program assessments, evaluations, and culminating academic requirements.
- Satisfy all university financial obligations and graduation application requirements prior to degree conferral.
Upon successful completion of all university and program requirements, graduates earn the appropriate degree(s), satisfy the educational and supervised practice requirements established by ACEND®, and are eligible to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
