Student Julia Callaghan was presented with the President’s Award by President Rick Artman at the annual Volunteer Recognition Event April 27 in the Fine Arts Center Lobby. The award honors Callaghan’s outstanding campus involvement and volunteer efforts. Area high school students were also honored at the event.

Spring Commencement is Saturday

Four hundred seventy-four students, 374 undergraduate, 94 graduate, and six associate degree students, will be candidates for graduation at Viterbo’s spring commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at the La Crosse Center.

Log Your Service Hours and Activities

We need everyone to participate. What are you doing to help your community, church, school, favorite non-profit, or cause? Coaching little league, helping a neighbor, bell ringing for Salvation Army, running/walking a 5K for charity, or participating in Viterbo campus/organization volunteer activities…all great examples of service that you can log. Volunteerism and service can be formal or informal; you be the judge. When you are giving your time you are contributing to the common good.

Children react with delight to Nick Devney, a chemistry major, who demonstrates the chemical reaction that occurs when you combine two products such as the candy Mentos and Diet Coke in a soda bottle.

What's the Hoopla About Internships?

Father Conrad Targonski, OFM joined students in a “What’s the hoopla about internships?” hula hoop contest in Assisi Courtyard. Prizes were awarded for longest hula hooping and most creative hula hooping.

Community-wide Conversation on Servant Leadership

Joanne Sandvick, Dick Pieper, and Paul Fuchsel, join Tom Thibodeau for a community-wide Conversation on Servant Leadership April 21 in the Reinhart Center Board Room.

Hmmm….$87.25. That was one student’s guess as to how much was in the “Shake the Bank” contest with the one closest to the actual amount receiving the cash.

Rose Awards Thursday

Find out who will be honored with the Teacher of the Year, Employee of the Year, and other awards at the annual Rose Awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30 in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.

A reception will follow the event. Everyone is welcome to attend.
