Distinguished Alumni Nominations Needed

The alumni office is seeking nominations for the Viterbo Distinguished Alumni Award. Up to five award recipients may be honored each year. Distinguished alumni display Viterbo’s mission of faithful service and ethical leadership in their everyday lives and also embody Viterbo’s core values.

Outstanding Scholars

The annual Health Science Scholarship event featured 33 outstanding high school students competing for almost $200,000 in Viterbo scholarship money. The event also had a record number of applicants.

Meet Viterbo’s New Director of Counseling Services Tuesday

The Viterbo community is invited to attend a meet and greet open house with LeeAnn Van Vreede ’01, director of counseling services, from 3:30–5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 in the Student Development Center Conference Room. 

Van Vreede, a Viterbo alumna with many years of counseling experience, is eager to meet colleagues and students.

Scholars’ Days Registration is Now Open

Consider registering your class, department, performance group, or research group for this year’s Scholars’ Days slated for Thursday April 21–Saturday, April 23.

Classroom Visitors

Lee Bushong, criminal justice, and students in the Police in American Society class welcomed La Crosse County Sheriff Deputy Brandon Stoughtenger and his K9 partner, Sabiye, Feb. 11. Stoughtenger discussed the career of a K9 handler and what a K9 does for the community.

A Good Deed

Viterbo student Aaryn Jones was one of 41 Viterbo community members to donate blood at the BloodCenter of Wisconsin blood drive sponsored by Viterbo’s Residence Hall Association Feb. 11. When he wasn’t donating blood, Jones even had time to be named the NSAA Men’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

NFL Hall of Famer Member and Pastor Aeneas Williams to Present “It Takes Respect” Wednesday

National Football League Hall of Fame member and pastor Aeneas Williams will present “It Takes Respect” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
