Cherry Lommen Leaves Legacy of Support for Viterbo
Cherry Lommen, a champion of Viterbo, kids, and community, died July 15. She was on Viterbo’s Board of Advisors as well as devoting her energy to organizations including Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse, Ronald McDonald House, Chileda, and Family and Children's Center.
Viterbo Launches New Leadership Structure
With the departure of the academic affairs VP, a new leadership structure has been set up to strengthen the connection between academic affairs and student afffairs, with Rick Trietley as interim provost and Sara Cook as interim associate provost for 2020-21.
Saint John XXIII Award and Scholarship a Great Tradition
The Saint John XXIII program is one of the major projects supported by the Viterbo Board of Advisors and includes a prestigious award and an endowed scholarship fund for Viterbo students that has presented $19,000 in scholarships since its inception.

Janzen Twins Happy to Study at Mom's Alma Mater
Tina Janzen ’96 calls getting her master’s degree in education at Viterbo one of the best things she ever did for herself, both as a teacher and a person. Now, her twins are both juniors at Viterbo. Nathan is going for a double major—music and finance—with possible careers as an opera singer or financial advisor. Jessica plans to become a pediatric oncologist and is majoring in biology, with two minors related to health care.
Mother Does 'Happy Dance' Over Daughter's College Pick
Growing up in a small town, Quinn Hause ’98 was attracted to Viterbo’s small size and personal touch. “I absolutely loved everything about Viterbo, the small class sizes, professors who knew who you were,” said the longtime social worker. “You weren’t just a number. They actually wanted to see you succeed.” Her daughter, Caitlin, grew up in that same small town and will start her freshman year as a biochemistry major at Viterbo in the fall, drawn to the university for many of the same reasons that attracted her mother.

Murphy Windows, COVID Updates Top Summer Projects
Summer break is always busy for physical plant staff, but COVID-19 made it busier. Adapting classrooms, residences, and common spaces became a priority, in addition to working on the FSPA Prayer Garden, an expanded VAC strength training facility, and replacement of Murphy Center windows.
