The Viterbo University Fine Arts Center welcomes audiences for its 2023-24 Bright Star season. The lineup features a diverse array of productions, including internationally renowned musicians, comedians, and a dynamic dance troupe.
For theatre and music theatre faculty member Rick Walters, being named executive artistic director of the Viterbo Conservatory for the Performing Arts has been an “energizing extension of my 20-plus years at an institution I love.”
Viterbo gave Nancy Allen '84 a second chance at a college education, and she came back to the university 25 years ago to give her music students the kind of love and attention she got from her teachers. Allen is retiring at the end of the 2022-23 school year.

Kiley Silva was a high school student from Houston, Texas, when she performed for 50 college music theatre programs at a National Unified Auditions event in Nebraska. Of all the school representatives she met that day, only one asked about her as a person, rather than “how high can you sing?” and other ability-related inquiries. That representative was Viterbo faculty member Rick Walters.
