Next May marks 50 years since Kris (Kampa) Hesch ’72 graduated from Viterbo. For her, though, there was no cap, no gown, no pomp and circumstance. “I did not walk across the stage to receive my diploma because I was on a USO tour with Viterbo’s Marianettes,” Hesch said.

Professor of Music Mary Ellen Haupert has served at Viterbo University for 25 years. She founded the One-of-a-Kind Chamber music series in 2008. “I love teaching music,” she said. “I enjoy the wide variety of subjects I teach, and it has been a great joy watching my students develop over the years.”

If not for a friend’s encouragement and a summer work study job, Dillon McArdle ’06, the new director of Viterbo’s Fine Arts Center, might have taken a very different path in life.

McArdle began life as a Midwesterner, the middle child of three sons living his early years in Anoka, Minn., the Halloween Capital of the World. When he was in third grade, he moved with his mother and stepfather to Las Vegas.
