LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University’s Concert Choir, 9th Street Singers, Vive Voce, and Viterbo Choral Arts will perform a fall concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 in Mary of the Angels Chapel at St. Rose Convent.
“Viterbo’s fall Alumni Choir Concert is an opportunity for us to celebrate alumni of the choral program,” said Michael Sauer, Viterbo faculty member and director of choral studies. “We talk with current students about how special it is being a part of something bigger than any one person, and that we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. This concert is about honoring that legacy.”
Alumni are invited to join the choirs in singing the final two numbers of the program, Arnold Sevier’s arrangement of the Gospel hymn Precious Lord and Shawn Kirchner’s Unclouded Day. The rest of the concert features works by Kyle Pederson, Morten Lauridsen, Cecilia McDowall, Keith Hampton, Rene Clausen, and Arvo Pärt.
The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
