LA CROSSE, Wis. – Enjoy ice fishing insight and laughter from two buddies with the hilarious An Ice Fishing Musical: Guys on Ice at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

Written by Fred Alley and James Kaplan, Guys on Ice follows Marvin as he anxiously awaits his opportunity to appear on a cable TV fishing show which he believes will make him a household name; while his buddy, Lloyd, ponders a recent squabble with his wife concerning plans to spend their wedding anniversary at Lambeau Field watching the Packers play the Bears. As Lloyd laments: “Who wouldn't want to spend their anniversary at Lambeau Field?”

A fellow angler—Ernie the Moocher—pokes his head in the shanty now and then; always out for a beer or a stick of jerky, much to the dismay of the pals. Ernie is also the host of the hilarious, prize-filled, audience-participation half time show.

With songs such as De Wishing HoleFish is de Miracle Food, and Ode to a Snowmobile Suit (complete with a zipper dance routine), Guys on Ice isn't just an uplifting comedy full of laughs, it’s a journey into the secret culture of Northern Wisconsin ice fishermen.

This Viterbo Bright Star Season performance is sponsored by Marine Credit Union.
