BEN FOLDS & A PIANO TOUR WITH SPECIAL GUEST LINDSEY KRAFT COMING TO VITERBO UNIVERSITY NOV. 7
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Ben Folds & A Piano Tour with special guest Lindsey Kraft will stop at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center for a performance in the main theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7.
An Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter of national fame, Folds has created an enormous catalog of genre-fusing music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, a holiday album, and numerous collaborative records. He currently tours as a pop artist, while also performing for more than two decades with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras.
Serving for eight years as the first ever Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Folds recorded two sold out performances with the NSO that he released as a live album in July 2024. It debuted at the top of the Billboard classical and classical crossover charts. He is also a New York Times Best Selling author and creates new music for film, TV, and theatre, with original music he composed to be featured in an animated Peanuts special that premiered this past August on Apple TV.
In 2022, Folds launched a music education charitable initiative in his native state of North Carolina entitled “Keys For Kids,” which provides funds and keyboards to existing nonprofits that offer free or affordable piano lessons to school-age children from economically disadvantaged households. For the past 15 years he has been an outspoken advocate for arts funding, music education, and music therapy in the U.S. as a member of Americans for the Arts and the Arts Action Fund.
Opening for Ben Folds is the talented Lindsey Kraft, a singer, composer, and actress who audiences may recognize from roles on HBO’s Getting On and Netflix’s Obliterated and Grace and Frankie. She will perform her brand of theatrical pop music, including songs from her one-woman musical, “love, me.” She describes her songs as deeply personal, funny, and sad—her sound inspired by Carly Simon, Carole King, Billy Joel, Bette Midler, Randy Newman, and Broadway (but like, only the good shows).
This Viterbo Bright Star Season performance is sponsored by Mid-West Family and River Valley Media Group.
Tickets are $89 for main floor, $69 for lower balcony, and $59 for upper balcony seating, plus a $3 convenience fee and $1 facility fee per ticket. All orders will include a 5.5% sales tax.
