Students:

If you have textbooks, equipment, or clinical badges to return to the Viterbo campus, mark your calendar for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, May 10–12 from noon–5 p.m. Viterbo will be providing a multi-department, one-stop-shop drive-thru return event located in the Fine Arts Center parking lot in an effort to provide a safe and efficient means of returning all borrowed items. You won’t even need to exit your vehicle.

What to expect: In order to keep both students and volunteers safe, the use of masks within your vehicle while returning items is encouraged. Enter the Fine Arts Center parking lot via 9th St. between Reinhart Center and the FAC. You will be handed a bag with a pen and a form as you enter. Fill out your name and other necessary information (check each department’s instructions below). Keep the pen. Place items in the bag (one bag per department). Drive up to the drop off area and place your returns on the labeled carts. A volunteer will be available to accept library equipment returns. Turn left out of the parking lot on 10th St.

Participating departments: Bookstore (rented textbooks): Name and phone number info will be required for all rental textbooks. Once your items have been checked in, the bookstore will send an email if additional books are listed on your rental account. Refer to your reminder emails for a list of your rentals or call the store 608-782-4377 for assistance on looking it up. The grace period before non-return charges apply has been extended to 15 days past the May 11 due date to allow for transit and store processing time. Textbooks can also be returned utilizing the free Fed Ex shipping label provided in the reminder emails. Buyback is only being processed through www.viterbostore.comLibrary: No bag or additional information is necessary for library items. Please hand all library equipment to the drop-off volunteer. All other library materials and interlibrary loans can be placed on the cart labeled “Library”. Once drive-thru drop off materials have been processed, anyone with library items still checked out will be emailed to set up a plan to return or renew their items. Nursing: Write down your name. Place all scrubs and student clinical badges into the bag provided. Place bag in the bin labeled “Nursing.” Academic Resource Center: Write down your name and place borrowed text books on the cart labeled “ARC.”

Contact the library at library2@viterbo.edu or bookstore bookstore@viterbo.edu with any questions.

The second annual Ethics Video Competition will be held online this year from May 1–4. Students from across campus have created videos and podcasts (max. of five minutes) related to the common good (we have received over 30 submissions). The top six videos will be selected from a panel of judges, and a link will  be sent out Friday afternoon (May 1) inviting all Viterbo students and faculty to watch the videos and then rank them (via a Qualtrics survey) from 1st place to 6th. The top three videos will receive a cash prize from the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership (1st place is $1000, and 2nd and 3rd is $500) to be split between group members of the winning videos, and the top three videos will also be uploaded to the institute’s website.

Lumen, Viterbo’s student newspaper, has published its final issue of the spring semester. It features an open letter to the students from Viterbo President Glena Temple, an athlete’s reaction to the spring sports season cancelation, and much more. This is the Lumen’s 65th year and publication will reserve in the fall.
