Pursuing your personal and professional goals through graduate school is exciting. Navigating how to make the dream a reality starts with exploring your financial aid options. All of Viterbo's master's and doctoral programs are eligible for Federal Financial Aid. Some licensure and certificate programs are also eligible for federal aid, contact graduate admissions for qualified programs.

Graduate Assistant - Athletics, Part-time (open to MBA or MASL graduate students only)

Graduate Assistant for Residence Life, Part-time 

Up to Two Positions Available: The position starts in the Summer and continues throughout the academic school year.  Includes housing.

700 residential students call Viterbo University's on-campus housing ‘home’ every academic year. Under the supervision of the Area Coordinator, this position will serve in the professional staff on-call duty rotation and will be work to ensure an approach of equity and safety in all incident responses. Responsibilities aligning with the graduate assistant’s talents and interests may be assigned as desired.

Responsibilities:

ON-CALL DUTY

1. Provides on-call duty coverage on a scheduled basis. Carries duty phone during all on-call duty hours and responds immediately to all calls.
2. Assists and accompanies Resident Assistants and Campus Safety with incidents and emergencies when on call.
3. Is not permitted to leave campus between 10 pm and 6 am or consume alcoholic beverages during on-call hours.
4. Spends on-call overnight hours in campus housing to adhere to the live-in and quick/emergency response nature of the position.

GENERAL

5. Responds to campus incidents and emergencies including, but not limited to alcohol and drug use/abuse/overdose, vandalism, incivility, and mental health crises Respond to all inquiries, problems, and complaints from students and staff.  Refers inquiries, problems, and complaints to the Assistant Dean of Student Community as necessary.
6. Maintains a lead role when responding to incidents and crisis situations.  Meets with Resident Assistants at the scene of each incident to lead and expedite effective response and follow-up appropriately.
7. Maintains confidentiality and follows all on-call processes and procedures.
8. Maintains complete, accurate, and updated records, including comprehensive submission of incident reports in a timely manner.
9. Works an average of 5 hours per week in the Residence Life Office during weeks not on call.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Compensation: Private on-campus apartment; $600 V-Hawk Bucks/semester for use in on-campus dining facilities. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree, strong communication and administrative skills required. Previous residence life experience preferred.  Must live on campus and respond to requests/emergencies while on call.  The position is security-sensitive and will require a background check.

Graduate Assistant - Campus Ministry

Viterbo University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Campus Ministry. As an extension of Campus Ministry, the Graduate in Ministry helps students become faithful servants and ethical leaders. The Graduate in Ministry will support the planning, prep, and facilitation of retreats, service trips, liturgy and worship services, social activities, leadership development, and creating an inviting space that fosters a deep sense of Franciscan Community.

Schedule: This is a part-time 12-month position. This position is required to work 20 - 29 hours per week including flexible evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities:

1. Assists with university-wide Campus Ministry events and programming (e.g., weekly events, Agape Latte programming, liturgies and worship, retreats, and service opportunities).
2. Assists in the coordination and supervision of CM student work-study students and volunteers.
3. Cultivate servant leadership skills in students primarily through student retreat teams, faith-sharing groups, bible study groups, liturgical leadership, and other campus ministry opportunities.
4. Assists in creating and maintaining a campus community that fosters a deep sense of Franciscan Community through the development of hospitality, faith-sharing, bible studies, social activities, etc.
5. Assists in the coordination and facilitation of Campus Ministry Retreats, weekly program events (worship, formation, and social), service trips, and other campus ministry opportunities for students.
6. Assists in the promotion and marketing of Campus Ministry activities, including Campus Ministry website and social media accounts.
7. Makes oneself available as a resource to students by scheduling office hours, developing ways to cultivate relationships with students through 1:1 mentorship/discipleship and being present during on-campus events, etc.
8. Plan other activities with students based on student needs and interests (trips, concerts, talks, socials, etc.).
9. Be an active member of Campus Ministry -attend regularly scheduled Campus Ministry/Liturgy Team meetings and hold regular office hours.
10. Works collaboratively with other campus partners, students, and staff to promote all Campus Ministry programs and services.
11. Schedule weekly meetings with the Director of Campus Ministry.
12. Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, with 1-2 years related experience in ministry/leadership preferred. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check. Possess superior interpersonal skills and the ability to develop an effective rapport with a variety of personalities. Ability to manage complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term projects with urgent or immediate demands. Ability to work effectively, decisively, and flexibly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; confident in making independent decisions yet aware of when supervisory assistance is required. Capacity to manage stress and maintain personal and emotional stability in a demanding work environment. Possess a knowledge of the campus community. Have a deep understanding of Catholic, Franciscan Traditions and embody these ethics and values. Have a healthy and active practicing spiritual life. Ability to appropriately share one's experience of faith and invite students to explore their sense of spirituality. Is passionate about fostering the growth of the Christian community. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Viterbo University is unable to sponsor or take over the sponsorship of the Employment Visa.

2. Exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.
3. Ability to handle highly confidential material, understanding that all University information should only be disclosed to others who have a need-to-know status for legitimate business reasons.
4. Establish and maintain effective communication & working relationships with internal and external constituents.
5. Accept supervision, new assignments, change, and constructive correction.
6. Carry out all responsibilities professionally and maintain professionalism when dealing with all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.
7. Adhere to the policies and procedures established by Viterbo University.
8. Must be enrolled in a Viterbo University Graduate Program and maintain good academic standing.

Compensation:

1. Maximum 18 credit hours for the 2023 - 2024 academic year (6 - Fall, 6 - Spring, 6 - Summer).
2. Stipend of $12,000 for the year, ($1,000 per month)
