VITERBO UNIVERSITY NAMED A TOP SCHOOL FOR ONLINE MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMS IN DIETETICS

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University has been ranked as one of the best colleges in the nation at which to earn an online master’s degree in dietetics by the website OnlineMastersDegrees.org.

Only six percent of postsecondary institutions made the list in 2022. OnlineMastersDegrees.org researched and analyzed more than 7,700 accredited schools based on a variety of criteria that are included on their website. The full rankings are available at https://www.onlinemastersdegrees.org/best-programs/nutrition/dietetics/.

“The Viterbo Master of Science in Community-Medical Dietetics program prepares students for a wide variety of career opportunities,” said Kelsey McLimans, faculty member and director of the program. “Students take part in engaging online courses based on the most recent research in the field of nutrition. In addition, our program offers an abundance of elective courses allowing students to specialize in areas such as performance nutrition, entrepreneurial nutrition, advanced clinical nutrition, and advanced-level counseling.”

The Viterbo program offers distinct tracks for students at different points in their professional and academic careers:

  • Traditional undergraduate students progressing into Viterbo’s master’s program
  • Students with a bachelor’s degree outside of dietetics who would like to become a registered dietitian through a master’s degree program
  • Students who would like to complete a dietetic internship and pair this with a master’s degree
  • Practicing dietitians who would like to earn an advanced degree in dietetics.

All program tracks include coordinated internship placements, except the track for practicing dietitians, whom will have had supervised practice already. Program areas of emphasis include nutrition and food science, sports nutrition, community nutrition, and medical nutrition.
