Freshman Cost and Aid

Viterbo University Scholarship Application - Start Now

Because of our commitment to affordability, most families pay significantly less than the full-time tuition rate. In fact, 98% of full-time students receive some type of financial aid, which is awarded based on academic merit, financial need, and in the forms of scholarships, grants, work-study, or federal loans. This leads to an average out-of-pocket cost of $14,286 compared to the 2021-22 overall sticker price of nearly $40,000 (including room and board) for full-time undergraduate students attending Viterbo University.

Average Financial Aid Package (2021-22)*

Consider the example below for the average cost to the Viterbo full-time first-year student living on campus.

Total direct cost (including tuition and fees, average room, and meals)        $39,786
Gift aid from federal, state, and/or university $17,000
Net Cost $22,786
Federal student loans $5,500
Work-study $3,000
Out-of-pocket cost $14,286

*This average is provided for illustration purposes only. Actual net tuition cost will vary depending upon multiple individual circumstances such as high school grades, ACT/SAT scores, individual and family income, and scholarship eligibility.
