VITERBO UNIVERSITY ONE-OF-A-KIND CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES CONTINUES WITH “KEYED IN” PIANO DUET NOV. 15

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The 2015-16 Viterbo University One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music Series continues with Keyed In – Piano Duet featuring pianists Timothy Schorr and Mary Ellen Haupert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.

The program will feature Schorr and Haupert performing piano duet music by Franz Schubert, including the Sonata for Piano Four Hands in B-flat Major, Op. 30, D. 617 and Fantasy for Piano Four Hands in F Minor, Op. 103, D. 940. Schorr and Haupert have collaborated for over 10 years, performing at concert venues in the Midwest and abroad, most notably for the Edinburgh Society of Musicians and the World Piano Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music Series is starting a new initiative this concert, the “One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music Experience,” which is designed to give students an opportunity to work with seasoned professionals. University of Wisconsin-La Crosse professor Dr. David Phipps coached UW-L cello student Carolyn Meyer and Viterbo University piano student Aubrie Jacobson in preparation for a performance of the first movement of Schubert’s Piano Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 99, D. 898. “It is my hope that future ‘One-of-a-Kind’ programs will include talented coach-professionals and students, collaborating on a regular basis,” stated Haupert.

The third concert of the series will be Sunday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. with Keyed In – Piano Duo featuring performances by pianists Mark Tollefsen and Jae Won Kim, violinist Stephanie Arado, and soprano Ann Schoenecker. Wisconsin Public Radio is the media sponsor for the One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music performances.

Tickets are $16 for general admission seating. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
