Please join us on Thursday, April 4 at The Rivoli Theatre and Pizzeria for a social gathering and documentary screening.

5:30 p.m. - Social gathering at the Rivoli with pizza and a cash bar available. Art show on display from local students.

6:30 p.m. - Screening of the documentary: “Going Home Like a Shooting Star: Thea Bowman’s Journey to Sainthood”

7:30 p.m. - Q&A with FSPA and Viterbo representatives.

Sr. Thea Bowman became an educator, preacher, singer, and advocate for social justice and cultural awareness in the Church and in society. She was the first Black woman to join the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.

Due to her immense impact, the U.S. Bishops endorsed her for sainthood. Read more here about Sr. Thea Bowman's life and work.

The film features interviews and commentary from FSPA, Viterbo staff, her family, friends, and former students.
