Viterbo Virtual Book Club

Wednesday, September 28
6 - 7:30 p.m.

The Viterbo University Alumni Association Virtual Book Club returns for the fall
semester with a discussion of Viterbo's 2022 Common Read, I Take My Coffee Black
by actor/comedian/activist Tyler Merritt.

I Take My Coffee Black: Reflections on Tupac, Musical Theater, Faith, and Being Black in America
is Merritt's memoir. In response to racism he encountered as a black man living in the South,
Merritt has devoted his creativity to bringing his ethos of "Love. Learn. Create." to life
through his words and videos as part of The Tyler Merritt Project. His viral videos,
"Before You Call the Cops" and "Walking While Black," have been viewed by millions.

Melissa Collum, Viterbo's director for diversity, equity, and inclusion, will facilitate the
book club discussion in a Zoom session starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 28.
Those interested in taking part can register online to have a Zoom link sent to them.
