A scavenger hunt for students starts today, April 12 at 1pm, and runs through April 29. Small rocks will be hidden around Viterbo’s campus by other landscaping rocks. The rocks will have one of the 5 D’s of Bystander Intervention on one side and a teal ribbon for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. You will need to locate three of the five rocks, bring them to Murphy office 339 (Elizabeth Digby-Britten, health promotion and violence prevention coordinator) and pick a prize. There are seven different prize bundles to pick from. The 5 D’s are: Distract (create a subtle way to interrupt), Direct (name the inappropriate behavior and speak directly to the person who is causing harm), Delegate (ask a third party to assist), Delay (sometimes in the moment we cannot assist but we can check in after the fact), and Document (either record or take notes when harassment is happening). The last day to collect your prize will be April 29.
