A person affected by sexual misconduct, harassment, or discrimination has the right to report and the university can assist. There are several reporting options. The Title IX coordinator can assist in notifying the police if that option is chosen. University policies prohibit retaliation against a person who reports or assists someone with such a report. We encourage persons who have experienced sexual misconduct or assault, dating or domestic violence, stalking, sexual exploitation, gender discrimination, or pregnancy discrimination to talk to someone so that they can get support and the university can respond appropriately.

Questions About Reporting

Do I need to report information that I hear if it is second-hand, perhaps a rumor, vague information?  What if one of the parties is not a member of our Viterbo community?  What if the incident took place off-campus?
When in doubt, report. Any information can be helpful as we strive for the safety and security of all of our Viterbo community members.

What happens after I file a report?
The Title IX coordinator will review the information and may reach out for further details. The Title IX coordinator will reach out to the person affected to review options and provide supportive measures, as appropriate.

Will I be updated on what happens based on my report?
No. Your report and follow-up steps are kept confidential to respect the privacy of any parties that may be involved.
