Subject: Virtual Town Hall Wednesday and Other Important Viterbo Updates

Students,

Here are some important updates:

  • President Glena Temple and other Viterbo officials will host a virtual town hall for students from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 8. This will be an opportunity to hear Viterbo news from the president and it will provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions. All Viterbo students are invited to participate in the online event, which will be conducted in the form of a Zoom meeting at https://viterbo.zoom.us/j/273816920. Participants can submit questions using the chat feature in the Zoom meeting, which President Temple and others will answer via webcam.
  • All summer classes beginning on or before June 18 will be conducted in an online format.
  • As has been the case for many universities around the country, Viterbo has been approached by the City of La Crosse and our local hospitals regarding potential use of campus facilities, including some of our residence halls, to support the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Viterbo has agreed to a first phase and will house hospital employees and emergency responders (police, fire, EMS) who have not been diagnosed with Coronavirus. These individuals will be in a separate residence hall and will not be in areas where resident students remain. Several students have been relocated to accommodate this request. The first individuals are expected on campus on April 14.
  • The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies).
  • Reminder that Thursday, April 9 to Monday, April 13 is Easter Break. Classes will not formally meet on those days.

On behalf of everyone at Viterbo University, have a great week and Happy Easter.
