We believe that for a university community to thrive, it must be diverse and inclusive of identities, experiences, and ideas. We also understand that social justice and equity must first be present for diversity and inclusion to exist and flourish.
It is important for us to define what social justice and equity mean to us:
Social Justice: Providing equitable systems and structures to support employees and students while centering human rights and recognizing the dignity of every human being.
Equity: Implementing systems and structures that provide access, opportunity, and advancement in a manner that is just and equitable for all Viterbo employees and students. Equity acknowledges the differences between identities and experiences and works to eliminate barriers to meet diverse needs.
