Language and cultural skills with a focus on social justice issues.
Program Information
Viterbo’s world languages program offers students insight into today's interconnected global society, and prepares them for the global job market. More than just speaking and writing Spanish, Viterbo’s major allows students to explore the culture of Latin America and Latinos with a focus on social justice. Our program develops these skills as a community, inside and outside of the classroom. Faculty support and facilitate study abroad experiences, and internship opportunities, which allow students to experience other cultures from a global perspective. Based on American Council on Teaching Foreign Language (ACTFL) standards, Viterbo’s program offers students the opportunity to develop skills through community involvement, study abroad, summer research, and scholarly work opportunities. Introductory-level French, German, and Italian courses also are available to satisfy the bachelor of arts language requirements.
