The Viterbo University theatre and music theatre department will present the inaugural New Works Festivalon Friday, Jan. 25–Saturday, Jan. 26 and Friday, Feb. 1–Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts. All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Civil rights activist and author David Dennis Sr., will present the keynote address “What Does it Mean to be an American?” at the La Crosse Community Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
The outstanding sibling piano quintet The 5 Browns will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

Campus Safety and Security will test fire alarms on Thursday, Jan. 10 from 1:30–2:30 p.m. During this time the alarm will briefly go off for a few seconds. No one needs to evacuate unless instructed to by Campus Safety or Physical Plant personnel.

Viterbo faculty and staff are invited to present and/or attend the Celebration of Teaching and Learning Friday, Jan. 25 from 3:30–5 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Lobby. Register at Faculty and instructors from a variety of disciplines will share teaching and learning experiences, instructional strategies, methods, and outcomes via 15-minute mini sessions. People attending will also be able to enjoy wine and cheese, door prizes, and interaction with colleagues and friends.


Reminder about the events happening tomorrow, Jan. 10: 8–9:30 a.m. Strategic Enrollment Planning Forum followed by the University Forum from 10–11 a.m., both the Fine Arts Center Lobby. From 11 a.m.–noon, a meet and greet new VP Jim Salmo will be held in the Reinhart Center Board Room.


The Viterbo Dance Team is hosting a Kids Clinic Saturday, Jan. 26. The clinic begins at 1 p.m. and ends with a halftime performance during the men’s basketball game at 5 p.m. in the Varsity Athletics Center. Participants will learn a fun routine and a snack and t-shirt are included. Email Coach Anna Weidner at to register your child. Recommended for kids age 5–10.
