Viterbo University music students will perform the operas The Telephone and The Medium by Gian Carlo Menotti at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 in the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.
Viterbo University’s Bright Star Season performance of Tuesdays with Morrie starring Jamie Farr from TV’s M*A*S*H, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27, has been cancelled due to some of the cast and production team not receiving work visas to work in the U.S.
Viterbo University will award up to 20 new $2,000 scholarships for students majoring in education or engineering who apply for admission by Wednesday, Nov. 1 to enroll in fall 2018.

The Viterbo community is invited to the annual campus Constitution Day event from 3:30–4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 in the Reinhart Center room 127. Keith Knutson, history, Michael Smuksta, history emeritus, and Emily Bunting, one of the plaintiffs in the Gill vs. Whitford U.S. Supreme Court case, will discuss the case and the issue of Gerrymandering in Wisconsin. Ice cream will be served, courtesy of campus ministry.

 

Viterbo community members are invited to attend the lunchtime presentation and panel discussion “500th Anniversary of the Reformation” at noon Thursday, Sept. 28 in the Fine Arts Center Lobby. The event will feature Brad Gregory, professor of history at Notre Dame University  and a panel of Viterbo faculty. Lunch will be served, and registration is required. Students interested in learning more about their opportunity to travel to Nicaragua during spring break 2018 as part of a VUSM 300 course should stop by the informational meeting Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 9 a.m. in the School of Nursing Building room 202. The Viterbo Education Club is holding a fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Harvey. During the week of Sept. 18–22, donation boxes will be placed in Murphy Center Lobby and School of Nursing Building Lobby. Items needed include shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and socks (children's). Additionally, the Education Club will sell donuts for $1 from 7:30 a.m.–noon Thursday, Sept. 21 to raise money for supplies.

 

Registration/Abstract Submission for the 2017 Seven Rivers Undergraduate Research Symposium are now available. This year’s 15th annual symposium will be held Friday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Click for the registration form. Even if you don’t plan to present research, a registration form should still be completed by all attendees. The deadline to register is Oct. 27.
