Gary Tyler, who was wrongly convicted of first-degree murder at the age of 17 and spent 41 years in Louisiana State Penitentiary, better known as Angola, will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 in San Damiano Chapel at Viterbo University.
Viterbo University announces the creation of the Center for Professional Learning and Development, which will partner with regional businesses to create leadership development programs designed specifically to meet the business’ unique needs. These programs will be facilitated by university faculty and area business executives.
The public is invited to attend the world premiere of the documentary film Decoding the Driftless at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

Group Fitness Demo Week: Check out Rec Sports group fitness classes being offered this semester. Classes are free for employees, members, and always free for students. Today’s classes include: Tone and Tighten at 6:45 a.m., Pilates at 12 p.m., Yoga at 5 p.m., and Cardio Sculpt Fusion at 6 p.m.

 

All Viterbo community members are asked to update their emergency text message and contact information for the 2018 fall semester by the end of September. The emergency text message system notifies Viterbo students and employees via cell phone text messages in the case of campus-wide emergencies, and the emergency contact information will help university officials notify a family member or friend in case of an emergency to an affected student or employee. This information can be updated online via Vitnet. Students should click on Emergency Contact under the Academic Profile section. Employees should click on Emergency Contact under the Supervisor Resources section.

You can still join one of the Viterbo choirs this fall semester. There are spots left in Women’s Chorale (meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2–2:50 p.m.) and Concert Choir has openings in the tenor and bass sections (meets Monday and Wednesday 12:20–1:15 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon–12:50 p.m.) Both choirs are traveling to Spain and Portugal in May.
