Help us honor the legacy of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA)

Contemplation is a call to open our hearts and minds in quiet moments of solitude. As a university, Viterbo believes strongly in the importance of this practice and its connection to our rich history.

To acknowledge this tradition established by the FSPA, Viterbo has commissioned spaces for prayer and contemplation to be developed on campus. Set between the Center for Student Development and the Dancing Francis statue, this secluded garden will provide a place for everyone to gather in thanks and praise of God. The garden will face St. Rose Convent while shrubs and foliage will be used to create a space removed from the hustle and bustle of campus. Low lighting will allow the space to be used during all hours of the day. Near the head of the garden will stand a statue of St. Rose to honor her impact on both Viterbo and the FSPA. At the center of the garden will lay a flower bed in the shape of the San Damiano cross as a constant reminder of the faith-based values the FSPA have instilled in Viterbo’s culture and community.

Contributions of any amount made to the garden honoring the legacy of the FSPA and their connection to Viterbo are greatly appreciated. Those giving $1,000 or greater will be acknowledged with their name on a plaque outside of the garden.

Opportunities for naming within the garden
