Parker J. Palmer is a nationally renowned writer, teacher, and activist who works independently on issues in education, ­community, leadership, spirituality, and social change. 

Parker is the senior associate of the American Association of Higher Education, senior advisor to the Fetzer Institute, and the founder of the Courage to Teach Program of K12 teachers across the country. His outstanding and important work has been recognized with seven honorary doctorates and several prestigious awards. He is also the author of six widely used books.
