Race in American Theatre

This survey course reflects how contemporary playwrights of color (1960 to the present) have utilized theatre and drama to examine racial tension in America. All the plays deal directly with the experience of living in a racial or ethnic micro-culture, and are studied in their historical context. Content includes works by African-, Hispanic-, Native-, and Asian-American playwrights. Prerequisites: ENGL-104 or 105 or 195, LDW course. LA
