LATIN GRAMMY NOMINEE GINA CHÁVEZ TO PERFORM AT THE WEBER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS APRIL 14

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Internationally acclaimed recording artist and Latin Grammy Award nominee Gina Chávez will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 14 in the Weber Center for the Performing Arts Lyche Theatre.

Blending the sounds of the Americas with tension and grace, Chavez is a 16-time Austin Music Award winner, including 2019 Female Vocalist of the Year and 2015 Musician of the Year. Chavez’s first Spanish language album, La Que Manda was nominated for a Latin Grammy in Best Pop–Rock in 2020. Her NPR Tiny Desk concert has more than 1.3 million views.

Chavez’s music is deeply personal. Her passionate collection of bilingual songs takes audiences on a journey to discover her Latin roots through music as she shares her story of life in Texas. She tours internationally as a cultural ambassador with the U.S. State Department and runs Niñas Arriba, a college fund she and her wife founded for young women in gang-dominated El Salvador.

Chavez is featured alongside Oprah, Beyonce, Mahalia Jackson, Dolly Parton, and many more in Southern Living's new book celebrating “100 extraordinary women who have left their indelible mark on the South and beyond.”

This performance is sponsored by Explore La Crosse.
