Integrative Care for Advanced Adult Conditions

This course combines theory and clinical while integrating previous knowledge, skills, and holistic care of the adult with complex disease processes. Emphasis is placed on clinical judgment, communication, collaboration, and compassionate care necessary for the delivery of safe, person-centered nursing care to culturally diverse adult patients experiencing high acuity medical/surgical conditions. The course incorporates evidence-based practice, quality improvement, professional standards, and legal and ethical responsibilities of the professional nurse as applied in the acute care and high acuity settings. Application of knowledge and skills occurs in a variety of clinical settings. Prerequisites: 326, 328, 336, 337, 360.
