Viterbo is Nursing

About the Nursing Center

Viterbo has announced plans for a new $15.8 million state-of-the-art nursing facility. The building, which will be named the School of Nursing, will be completed in time for the 2011 fall semester.

The 68,770 square-foot School of Nursing will more than double the amount of space available in the current Brophy Nursing Center, which has housed the program for nearly 40 years. The new facility will feature:

  • Four state-of-the-art simulation labs dedicated to critical care, medical/surgical care, maternal/newborn care, and child health care.
  • Three lecture halls, 11 multi-purpose classrooms/labs, a computer testing lab, a community health lab, four seminar rooms, and gathering spaces designed to promote faculty and student interaction.
  • A premier dietetics lab and classrooms, home to the dietetics major, which will also move to the new building.
  • LEED Silver Certification featuring a cutting-edge HVAC system and a unique chilled beam system.

The prestigious programs of the Viterbo School of Nursing are fully-accredited and dedicated to educating highly competent and compassionate nurses.

Viterbo offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a BSN Completion, a Bachelor of Science in Community-Medical Dietetics, and a Master of Science in Nursing degree.

“We are proud of our legacy of excellence and envision a very strong future of premiere professional programs founded on a liberal arts tradition and rooted in Franciscan values,” said Silvana Richardson, dean, School of Nursing. “I invite you to explore our website to learn more about each of our programs.
