MAYO CLINIC PROFESSOR OF MEDICINE AMIT SOOD, M.D., TO PRESENT “RESILIENT LIVING” AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY NOV. 8

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Amit Sood, M.D., professor of medicine and director of the Mind-Body Medicine Initiative at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., will present “Resilient Living” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

Sood is the creator of the Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Resilient Mind program and the author of numerous books, including The Mayo Clinic Guide to Stress-Free Living, The Mayo Clinic Handbook for Happiness, Immerse: A 52-Week Course in Resilient Living, and Mindfulness Redesigned for the Twenty-first Century. 

Mayo Clinic has honored Sood with its Distinguished Service Award, Innovator of the Year Award, Outstanding Physician Scientist Award, Faculty of the Year Award. He was also named the Robert Wood Johnson Health Care Pioneer. The Intelligent Optimist(formerly Ode Magazine) selected Sood as one among the top 20 intelligent optimists helping the world to be a better place. In 2016, he was selected as the top impact maker in health care in Rochester, Minn.

This lecture is being held in conjunction with Viterbo University’s annual Seven Rivers Undergraduate Research Symposium. It is part of the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership’s fall 2018 lecture series and is free and open to the public. No tickets are necessary, but seating is limited. For a full schedule of D.B.
