The Viterbo community is invited to sign up for the next Service Saturday event Feb. 23. Participants will serve at La Crosse City Forestry, the La Crosse Children’s Museum, Aptiv, WAFER Food Pantry, and Catholic Charities Warming Center from 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. for followed by a free shared meal and reflection. The play Student Body by Frank Winters will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 in the Fine Arts Center LaCroix Black Box Theatre. Free tickets will be available at the door. In Student Body, college students become locked in an intense moral argument over how to treat a sexual encounter that happened at a party. This event is sponsored by the Identities Project and the PROMISE Committee. Note: the content of the performance and talk back will address sexual violence.
Sign up is live for the Friday, Feb. 15 Bingo Bonanza. Nine agencies across the city are hosting bingo games at various times of the day to fit everyone’s schedule. Some games start as early as 10 a.m. and some as late as 3 p.m. All are invited to serve at the Boys and Girls Club, assisted living facilities, and Aptiv. To sign up, visit UGetConnected. Participants will receive a free t-shirt to wear during your service. At the end of the day, there will be a social at 5:30 p.m. in Brophy Center 123 to connect and reflect on the service.
Viterbo Education Club is hosting a book drive on campus for new or gently used children's books for all ages. All of the books gathered will be donated to the children being detained at the border. The drive will be run Feb. 11–22. There are donation boxes placed in the FAC lobby, School of Nursing Building lobby, Brophy Center, and at the top of the stairs of the fourth floor of Murphy Center.
Viterbo Dance Marathon members will be selling carnations on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. in the Student Union. $2 for one or $5 for 3.
The Student Dietetics Association is hosting a Valentine's Day bake sale from Wednesday, Feb. 13 through Friday, Feb. 15. They will be selling cake pops and brownies, each for a dollar. Booths will be set up in Murphy Center Lobby and the School of Nursing Building lobby from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
