Viterbo Education Club is hosting a book drive on campus for new or gently used children's books for all ages. All of the books gathered will be donated to the children being detained at the border. The drive will be run Feb. 11–22. There are donation boxes placed in the FAC lobby, School of Nursing Building lobby, Brophy Center, and at the top of the stairs of the fourth floor of Murphy Center.
Last call: Submissions to Touchstone, Viterbo's art and literature magazine, will be accepted until Feb. 14. Submissions can be taken to the Fine Arts Center third floor and placed on the submission table in front of the gallery. All students and faculty are welcome to submit any art, music, or literary piece.
The Viterbo community is invited to honor the university’s founders, the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, with events Wednesday, Feb. 13. 11:15 a.m. Liturgy with the FSPA – Maria Angelorum Chapel at St. Rose Convent. At the conclusion, a representative from Viterbo will present the Sisters with the Wordle constructed using phrases/words of gratitude from the Viterbo community. 3 p.m. Storytelling with the Sisters – St. Rose Convent. This is a great opportunity to hear the stories of the experience of the Sisters during their involvement at Viterbo University. 7 p.m. Franciscan Lecture: Faith and Women in the Franciscan Tradition – San Damiano Chapel. Darleen Pryds, Ph.D., will provide an evening of storytelling, truth telling, and personal challenges.
Viterbo Dance Marathon members will be selling carnations on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. in the Student Union. $2 for one or $5 for 3.
The Student Dietetics Association is hosting a Valentine's Day bake sale from Wednesday, Feb 13 through Friday, Feb. 15. They will be selling cake pops and brownies, each for a dollar. Booths will be set up in Murphy Center Lobby and the School of Nursing Building lobby from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Communications is offering two additional training sessions for the new Drupal website (www4.viterbo.edu). These identical basic sessions are designed to get participants editing the new site. They are the same as what was presented earlier this semester. Sessions will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 9 a.m., both in Murphy Center room 304. Click to register. Professional business attire is needed now through Feb. 28 for the Suits for Success program from 11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Western Technical College, in partnership with Viterbo University Career Services. Collection boxes have been set up in Murphy Center 374, outside the library, FAC Atrium, the School of Nursing Buildling Lobby, outside Brophy Center 105 and outside admissions. Needed items include suits, blazers, polo shirts, khakis, blouses, sweaters, dresses, skirts, shoes, and accessories. Contact Alyssa Gostonczik for large donations.
