VITERBO’S AFTERSCHOOL WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN HAS OPENINGS
LA CROSSE, Wis.—The art education department at Viterbo University is once again offering its Afterschool Art Workshop and giving local children a chance to explore their creativity.
Held Tuesdays Oct. 7 through Dec. 2, with no class during Thanksgiving week, the workshop is for children ages five to 12. All classes are taught by Viterbo art education students under the supervision of Viterbo faculty, and held in the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. Students registering for this workshop may choose one of the following classes:
- Living Scrapbooks—students will use traditional and digital photographic to make mixed media pieces.
- Monsters, Creatures and Critter—students will use clay, paint, and a variety of media to produce artist’s books, paintings, prints, and dioramas that feature real and imaginary animals, environments, and habitats.
- Storyboards, Books and Scrolls--students will write and/or illustrate stories using a variety of drawing and painting media.
Enrollment in the Afterschool Art Workshop is limited but there are openings available. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and registration must be completed before classes begin. A fee of $45 per student, payable at registration, will be charged to cover the cost of materials.
